Readiness for Combat
At the beginning of January 1943, F/O Langlois was sent to 21 Operational Training Unit (OTU) at RAF Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire, for his preparation to operational status and posting to active service. One of the first tasks he and the other recruits had was to form themselves into crews of five. The crew consisted of a pilot, a navigator, a wireless operator, a bomb aimer and a gunner. This crew would then become a team that, when the training was completed, would remain together for the duration of the tour with an active squadron. F/O Langlois combined with:

On completion of their training they were transferred to 150 Squadron based in North Africa.
