The Marshalling Yards at Naples, Italy

Mission summary:
"On this occasion eight of our aircraft were detailed for operations. The target once more being the marshalling yards at Naples.
The captains were:
- F/Sgt Sullivan
- F/O Jones
- Sgt Seville
- Sgt Lovesey
- F/Sgt Sullivan
- S/Ldr Langlois
- Sgt Wilkes
- F/Sgt Anderson
Flares were dropped over the target which enabled good pin-pointing and all crews claimed to have successfully bombed the target,
observing numerous incendiaries burning there. Heavy flak from scattered gun positions was moderate and ineffective and there was
slight light flak. A number of searchlights, generally operating singly, but there were one or two instances of aircraft being coned
by 5 to 8 beams and a blue master beam was observed in the area NW of the town. All aircraft landed safely at base between 2159 and
2221 hours.
