Ten crews definitely identified and bombed the target, dropping 19 tons of bombs including 3x4000lb from 5500 to 7000ft. Several crews
report that the transformer was hit. A large fire was observed - visible 25 to 30 miles away on the return journey. Two aircraft which
failed to locate the target bombed Eboli, starting fires. 96000 nickels were also dropped. Visibility was slightly hazy but not sufficiently
so to make pin-pointing difficult. All our aircraft landed safely at base.
