Mission summary:
"For the operations against the Salerno, ten of our aircraft have been detailed under the following captains:
All aircraft identified the target and 1x4000lb bomb burst was seen near the gas holders and another 4000lb bomb fell in the vicinity of the freight warehouses where a fire was started. debris was flung up from the bomb bursts in the vicinity of the cement plant. Opposition over the target was restricted to one or two Heavy flak and light flak guns North and West of the town - inaccurate. Several enemy unidentified aircraft were seen over the target area. No attempt was made at interception. All aircraft landed safely back at base.
