One aircraft bombed a train 5 miles north of the target - this was probably an ammunition train as bombing was followed by explosions. Two aircraft bombed the Southern Marshalling Yards with good results. The remainder bombed the primary target where the Transformer House, Chemical factory and prison were hit. In addition several fires were started in the target area, some of which could be seen 80 miles away. Opposition over the target was slight light flak. Two aircraft, flown by W/Cdr Southwell and S/Ldr Langlois flew over Rome on the way back where no opposition was encountered. All aircraft landed safely.
